Do You Love Vintage Bikes?

If you do, hopefully you’ll find something of interest on this site. I love bikes and have ever since I was a kid. When I’m not riding one, I like researching and writing about them, and dreaming about the next vintage bike that I’d love to have in my collection. Although modern bikes are great, I’m drawn to vintage bikes from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s – the tail end of the golden age when high end bicycles didn’t come out of a mold, but were still handmade out of steel, sometimes by a frame builder working alone in a shed in his backyard. This was the era when a professional quality bicycle could be bought for less than $1500.

This site is mainly an homage to vintage road  bikes but there is a lot of information that’s relevant to all cyclists. Among the pages you will find articles about great bicycle makers from the past, profiles of the greatest riders of all time, gear reviews, tech tips and how to’s, news from the world of professional bike racing, and even the odd movie or book review.

If you have a classic road, touring, or track bike that you want to share with the world, send me some photos and a description, and I’ll try to add it to the site. If you have a nice vintage bike that you’d like to sell, and it meets my strict guidelines for awesomeness, maybe I’ll post it here.
